I love the hyphen. What a relief to finally admit. A close second is the upside-down (sorry) question mark. That one has stayed with me since high school Spanish. No offense to the 180-degree-rotated exclamation point (it’s a problem, I know).
Unfortunately I had to cancel a meeting tonight with some synagogue friends. We usually go to a steakhouse (not kosher, if you must know). We call ourselves “Filet Minyan.” It was another one of those granular days stuck in the wonderful world of Excel. I’m not as proficient as I’d like so inefficiency is the operative mode. I’m not much of an “oh my, I need some fresh air” kinda guy so staying in all day is no big whoop. I made a huge pot of percolated coffee which I think confers a hyper-powerful gastro-colic reflex on my, oh so delicate, system so being inside near the shitter is a safe play. I’ve done drip, French Press, pour-over and now I’m in percolator mode. Mindfulness has been so overplayed these days, nonetheless, grinding the beans, etc. does it for my brain first thing in the morning. Meditative activity. One sip and if I am not focused…….
